Bill Zaferos is a former award-winning newspaper journalist who also has worked in politics and government, public relations and advertising. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Zaferos was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in his 40s after many misadventures and he is a fierce advocate for eliminating the stigma of mental illness. With Poison Pen, Zaferos channeled his own condition into creativity. A voracious reader, Zaferos lists his writing influences as Kurt Vonnegut, Carl Hiassen and Raymond Chandler as well as famed baseball writer Roger Angell. He is a rabid baseball fan who loves the Boston Red Sox and Milwaukee Brewers. Zaferos is very active in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Milwaukee. His second novel, Serenity Heights, is scheduled for release in 2019.
